I think I may have termites. What should I look for if it is termites?
Michael,
Pellets or fecal matter falling from the wood timbers on your home are a sure sign of a drywood termite infestation. Mud tunnels around water sources (hot water heaters, under sinks, in sub areas where there are leaks, etc…) signigy a subterranean termite problem. Lastly, wood members that have a wet, fibrous, spongy feel where the wood is deteriorating are signs of dry rot. Call or e-mail us for an inspection and we will give you our professional opinion. Thank you.
We used Mariner’s. $1,200.00 worth a few months ago. They missed a lot. I’m repairing wood on the house. Will Mariners sell me a gallon of the orange oil so I can finish the job as I replace trim?
Dan,
As the products we purchase from require a state Operators License with the Structural Pest Control Board to apply, unfortunately we cannot sell any of them to you. However, our warranty covers visible and accessible areas of your home so it may be worth while to call us as some of the areas where you are noticing activity may be covered.
Hi Nate,
How can I tell if wood is rot from termites?
Sammy, termite damaged wood is evident from either blistering paint where the termites have eaten the wood underneath or from the fecal matter they leave behind (pellets) Dry rot or fungal damage is associated with escessive moisture and leaves the wood damaged with a wet spongy feel. Mariners Pest Control would be happy to come and inspect the areas that concern you. Thank you.
